【The Origin of the Company Name】

The company’s name and corporate brand, “ASKLEP”, was taken from the Greek god of medicine, “Asklepios”. It was said that Asklepios widely imparted knowledge and wisdom pertaining to the treatment of diseases and drug technology. Furthermore, temples dedicated to Asklepios at which medicine and rituals were conducted could be found in various locations in ancient Greece and Rome. Even Hippocrates, the father of medicine, mentioned Asklepios at the beginning of his Hippocrates oath, which can certainly be regarded as the origin of modern-day medical ethics. Under this revered moniker of “ASKLEP”, ASKLEP pledges to improve the quality of life for people and conduct all corporate activities in a trusted manner.

Jul. 1992 IBRD Japan Co., Ltd. founded
Apr. 2000 Marketing Intelligence Corporation acquires IBRD Japan from Kuraya (Marketing Intelligence Corporation changed its name to INTAGE Inc. in April 2001.)
Apr. 2003 IBRD Japan re-brands as ASKLEP Inc.

Nov. 2005 Moves headquarters to Akihabara to consolidate business operations
Jun. 2006 Establishes strategic collaboration with Harrison Clinical Research Group GmbH (Germany), a full-service CRO covering all of Europe
Jan. 2008 Signs a strategic licensing and development agreement with XClinical GmbH (Germany) to bring the GCP EDC compliant system “MARVIN” to the Japanese market
Apr. 2008 INTAGE spins off the INTAGE SMO Division becomes an ASKLEP subsidiary
