At the same time, ASKLEP has begun operations in China having opened its first overseas offices in Shanghai and Beijing. The Chinese market has demonstrated real growth and is the target for Pharmaceutical companies to have a base of operations for both clinical development and sales activities. ASKLEP is working on providing clients with the same level of service and quality in China that they have come to expect of us here in Japan. Can anyone participate in the ASKLEP Annual Global Conference?

Attendees of this conference are largely from drug manufacturers and medical device companies as well as those working in medical institutions. If interested, we strongly encourage you to inquire if you would like to attend future events.

Do we need to have direct contact with the local CRO?

Normally when ASKLEP is tasked with project management, our clients just need to work with us as the single point of contact. However, sometimes the client wishes to deal directly with a local CRO, that of course is fine as there are English speaking staff at all our partners.

What is a strategic partnership?

Our strategic partnerships mean that we have established close business ties with companies in our industry in various territories around the world. We provide each other with the same commitment and quality services that is expected in our industry. Further, ASKLEP regularly exchanges information with our partners not only to promote services but also to deepen mutual understanding. In other words, ASKLEP and its partners jointly conduct promotional activities to enhance our presence in other markets and to obtain new projects. In addition, ASKLEP has also dispatched staff to a number of our partners to learn not only the way of conducting local business but also to understand customs, climate, and corporate environment as well.

For China, is it possible to have clinical monitoring in cities other than Shanghai and Beijing?

Institutions certified by the State Food & Drug Administration (SFDA) can participate in clinical studies as a clinical research base. ASKLEP has a strong network with these clinical research sites in major cities outside Shanghai and Beijing. Therefore, in addition to those two cities , ASKLEP can provide monitoring throughout Greater China. In fact, ASKLEP is considering expanding offices and staffing to other urban areas in China in the mid-term.
